A draft framework for early detection and rapid response to invasion in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta

Description / purpose

Preventing the establishment of new invasive species through early detection and rapid response (EDRR) is the most effective and efficient way to limit the negative impacts of invasive species on the Delta. β€‹In 2021, the DIISC Team lead a review of the different EDRR resources in the Delta and drafted an EDRR coordination table. β€‹

  • Many resources in the Delta to support Preparedness and Early Detection, but far fewer resources for Rapid Assessment or Rapid Response. β€‹
  • Many agencies involved in current EDRR activities in the Delta, but the ability to rapidly assess and respond to new invasions is concentrated in a smaller number of actors.
